      Work Trousers

Unless it's hot enough in the workplace to justify shorts, chances are you will be wearing trousers to work. Whether they be stylish work trousers for office work, smart-casual denim pants, or hard-wearing heavy-duty work pants for intensive and practical industries, there are trouser options made for most every job role out there. You just need to figure out the pair that meets your requirements.

We stock an incredible variety of work trousers fit for various purposes, coming in a diverse range of colours, fits, and sizes to ensure as many workers as possible remain comfortable at work, throughout the day or night. Both mens work trousers and womens workwear are available through us, manufactured by some of the best brands in the workwear space. Many are designed using industry-leading fabric technologies and feature relevant, practical workwear features like holster pockets, kneepad pockets.

We have trousers designed, tested, and built to specifically suit a huge variety of trades and professions. The range caters to different weather and working conditions, job role hazards such as fire, electricity, or other extremes and is engineered with strength, comfort, and performance in mind.

Waterproof Work Pants and Rain Trousers

One of the most popular workwear characteristics is being waterproof or highly water-resistant. Most waterproof work pants are also windproof and fully capable of protecting you from all kinds of weather such as sleet, snow, and wind. They achieve this level of weather protection through the use of waterproof materials in the design of the trousers and the use of taped seams on the garment. Sealing the seams prevents water and air droplets from being able to penetrate the outer layer of the trousers and get through to the wearer. Rain droplets will simply bead off. Thanks to the inclusion of these taped seams, our range of waterproof trousers are fully certified as being so according to the criteria laid out in the EN 343 safety standard.

Waterproof work trousers may be in the form of regular work trousers with waterproof protection or perhaps as over trousers. As the name suggests, over-trousers are designed to go “over” your usual pair of trousers, and thanks to their waterproofing, you have an easy way to quickly and easily adapt to changes in weather by taking off or putting on the waterproof overtrousers when it's necessary.

      Breathable Work Pants

Whether worn over trousers, bib trousers, or thick heavy-duty work trousers, you need to be careful these additional layers don’t cause you to become too hot. In an attempt to protect yourself from the cold and rain outside, you may inadvertently risk either overheating - or worse still, creating dampness through build-up of sweat. This is where breathability is crucial. Breathable work trousers have been designed to let moisture and warm air leave your trousers whilst not letting moisture back in. For example, breathable waterproof trousers have holes in the fabric large enough to let moisture out but small enough to prevent raindrops from getting in. At the very least, our breathable work trousers will help you stay cool throughout the working day, no matter how strenuous your activity is.

      Flame Retardant work trousers

Flame retardant trousers are a must for certain job roles like welders, metal workers, and, of course, firefighters. In such job roles, flame resistant workwear will be mandatory, so it's important that workers get flame retardant workwear that is up to standard. Fortunately, all our flame retardant workwear trousers have been thoroughly tested and are certified as being protective clothing against heat and flame according to EN11612 safety specifications. You can trust our FR clothing to protect you.

When used in conjunction with stretch fabric, lightweight work trousers can offer the perfect work trouser for those who work in warmer environments or require freedom of movement above all else. You aren’t being weighed down by pockets and features which are not relevant to your job, meaning you can more easily move where you need to. Losing this added weight also allows the wearer to feel more comfortable in lightweight work pants than more heavy-duty trousers.

      Colours of our Work Trousers

Among our entire work trousers range, we have trousers in all types of colours from the traditional navy and black work trousers to bold and fluorescent red and orange hi vis trousers and even lesser-used colour combinations that are important for specific job roles, such as white work trousers being ideal for painter and decorators.

      Hi Vis Work Trousers

Our range of work trousers includes a broad selection of hi vis work trousers. All our hi vis trousers have been tested against the EN 20471 safety standard and have a class rating between 1 to 3 to determine how effective those trousers are at keeping the wearer seen. The class is determined by three key factors. Firstly, there is the fluorescent material used to make the trousers, and how visible it is both in daylight and at night. Next, the reflective strips on the garment and where they are on the trousers, usually on the bottom of the ankles. Lastly, the contrast between the hi vis parts of the trousers and the base colour, (by making the base colour of the trouser much darker than the hi vis elements, it means that as wear and dirt sets in overtime, the hi vis parts will still remain bright in contrast to the already dark parts of the trouser).

The more surface area of the trousers is covered by hi vis colours and strips, the higher the class rating. For instance, a worker needs at least 0.2 square meters of reflective tape in addition to at least 0.80 sqm of fluorescent material on them across all the hi vis workwear they are wearing to be classified as class 3. A pair of our hi vis work trousers will certainly get you well on the way towards achieving an EN 20471 class 3 rating.

Given the harsh weather outdoor workers may be subject to, we stock a range of hi vis waterproof trousers to keep out the rain and help you stay seen and safe when grey clouds appear.

      Kneepad Work Trousers

Due to the importance of keeping your knees protected, these work trousers feature heavily in our collection. Kneepad trousers have pockets, usually accessed via a zip or a flap, on the knees of the trousers that are intended for housing appropriately sized kneepads. Having kneepads in your trousers will protect your knees from damage that may be caused by constantly kneeling down, which is a given in so many trades.. Aside from the direct benefit to the worker's knees, strengthening around the kneepads can also help reduce wear and tear on this high friction area of the trousers, resulting in them having a longer lifespan.

      Holster Pocket Work trousers

Another popular type of work pants are work trousers with holster pockets. The primary function of holster work trousers is to give you easy access to all your tools and equipment while on the job. These pockets hang off your trousers and can be removed or reattached at will for whenever you don’t need all that gear on you, or your trousers are being washed. When washing, since the pockets can simply be detached while the main trousers are cleaned, you don’t have to empty your pockets of all your tools and equipment or fill those same pockets back up afterward.

      Womens and Mens Work Trousers

We stock specific ranges of work trousers designed specifically for both men and women respectively. Our trousers' comfort and performance are designed to form fit the gender they have been designed for. We stock one of the largest specific selections of women's workwear in the industry. We even stock-specific workwear options such as maternity work trousers.

Materials used in our Workwear Trousers

Stretch work trousers are an innovation that has taken workwear by storm. Through the use of stretch panels on key areas of the trouser, the worker gains access to new movement possibilities that they would otherwise be too restricted to perform. This is especially true of our work trousers that utilise 4-way stretch material, such as Mascot’s ultimate stretch range. 4-way stretch lets the wearer move around in 360 degrees of direction, perfect for painters to get in the positions they need to get that last bit of wall finished, or for carpenters to more easily finish their latest installation. This degree of freedom may be enhanced further if the pants also happen to be elasticated work trousers.

Then we have the base material the trousers are made from. All have their own unique benefits to being used for work trousers. Cotton work trousers benefit from increased comfort while denim work trousers are durable yet also carry a casual appearance. We also use some materials renowned in the workwear industry for their effectiveness. Cordura trousers are reinforced at the seams and other key areas of wear like the crotch, which, thanks to Cordura’s high tensile strength, results in the trousers lasting the wearer longer than they would otherwise.
