Rain & Outer Shell Jackets
Outer shell jackets and Rain jackets are specifically designed to keep you dry. This type of jacket is characterised by the fact that it does not have a thick lining with insulating properties but is lightweight, windproof and waterproof. They can often be paired with waterproof trousers.
Lightweight and thin, these jackets can provide ultimate weather protection all year round. They constitute an important part of any layering system - the outer layer on top of a pair of insulating layers keeping you warm and dry during the cold periods, but also, without the insulating layer when in warmer temperatures. You can choose to wear e.g. a fleece jacket, a thermal jacket or a jumper under the outer shell jacket when the cold seriously bites.
The majority of outer shell jackets and rain suits are both breathable, windproof and waterproof with taped seams. The jackets are typically approved according to EN 343 and thus protect you fully against rain.
For ultimate comfort many of our shell jackets use stretch material that is elastic in every direction providing exceptional freedom of movement.
Other functional features can include: ventilation under the sleeves, an adjustable hood to protect your head additionally against the cold and winds.
Many are equipped with a variety of pockets with zips so you can safely store e.g. tools, mobile phone and keys.
If you have a job that requires extra visibility and safety, you can also find a Hi Vis outer shell jacket in a fluorescent colour, certified according to EN ISO 20471.
