For winter weather and cold work environments such as cold storage, thermal clothes are not just appreciated, they are essential. Portwest thermal workwear is designed to offer maximum warmth at all times through the use of warm fabrics and insulation but also must contain aspects of breathability so that you aren’t too warm either. Portwest has several ranges dedicated to select pieces of a workwear outfit available in the thermal range. Among them are winter jackets, coveralls, shirts, and gloves.

      Portwest Thermal Gloves

Portwest thermal gloves are a popular choice when it comes to cold conditions, due to the necessity of being able to use your hands and keep a firm grip whilst working in such temperatures. The Portwest a140 is a Portwest thermal grip glove meant to be worn for heavy-duty outdoor tasks in the cold. These gloves are lined with warm 10 gauge acrylic to keep your hands heated. What's more, the grip on these gloves is excellent in the cold, thanks to the crinkle latex used on the fingertips. Another pair of thermal gloves that are also available from Portwest is the a280 gloves. The appropriately named winter shield gloves are made from man-made leather and are lined with fleece material to give them their warmth.

      Portwest Winter Jackets

Portwest winter jackets utilise quilt lining in their hoods and build to keep the wearer warm. In the most necessary coats, Portwest applies heavyweight insulatex heat-reflective lining, which works by actually reflecting body heat back to the wearer, creating a cozy feeling of warmth. Of course, to stop the heat becoming too much and being overbearing, Portwest jackets also need to make effective use of breathability where possible. Just one of the ways Portwest thermal jackets do this is with underarm zips that let air in.

      Portwest Cold Store wear

Portwest has a select few workwear garments dedicated to work in cold storage, ideal for those working in walk-in freezers all day. There are coldstore Portwest Thermal overalls, and also a coldstore jacket and coldstore trousers depending on if you prefer the all-in-one getup of the coveralls or the split design of the jacket and trouser combo. The coldstore coverall is heavy-duty, yet unrestrictive, and uses breathable fabric and quilt insulation to keep the wearer safe in freezing conditions. The oversized hip pockets give these coveralls a sense of utility they may otherwise be missing and make it convenient to carry things on you that you can reach even with gloves on. Knee-length zippers and hook and loop fastening make these Portwest winter coveralls a cinch to get on and off.
