Flame Retardant Jackets and Coats
Fire Retardant Coats
Workplaces that are subject to adverse heat require their workers to sufficiently protect themselves from it, for both the health and safety of the employee and the reputation of the business. The most effective way to achieve this is if the employee wears fire-resistant workwear, a key part of this protective outfit being a fire-retardant jacket. Made to repel heat and sparks, a flame retardant jacket will, when paired with fire-resistant trousers, give the wearer full-body protection from fire and heat. Welders, mechanics, metal workers, and firefighters are just a few examples of those who need fire coats to carry out their job roles safely.
In order to qualify as being flame resistant, our workwear jackets must meet the criteria of the EN ISO 11612 safety standards, which means they have been thoroughly tested against heat and flames and officially have enough heat protection to justify being called a flame-resistant jacket. These criteria tests also ensure that the flame-resistant properties of the jacket are going to last as long as the rest of the jacket and that their abilities won’t fade after several washes.
Flame Retardant Hi-Vis Jackets
Aside from meeting the ISO 11612 criteria, our flame retardant coats are excellent pieces of workwear, both as a flameproof garment and as a workwear jacket in their own right. A flame retardant waterproof jacket can serve you well if you’re caught outside in unpleasant weather. Not to worry though, as despite being around both water and fire, you won’t have to worry about getting too hot, as most of our waterproof jackets are also breathable and will let warm moisture out of your jacket and cooler air inside.
Flame retardant hi-vis jackets keep you defended from flame and at the same time help keep the wearer visible, reducing the likelihood of potential accidents occurring. All certified hi-vis jackets we stock have been approved based on EN ISO 20471 criteria as being effective at keeping the wearer seen in low light conditions. The effectiveness of hi-vis workwear is determined by how much of the garment is covered in fluorescent colours and reflective strips, with the piece of workwear being designated as a certain class of hi-vis based on this result. What's special about hi-vis jackets that are also flame resistant, is that the hi-vis aspects are treated so they don’t dull over time when exposed to heat or smoke, a feature crucial to firefighters in particular.
Fire Retardant Lab Coats and Multi Protective Workwear Jackets
Fire resistance can be a great asset in dangerous environments, but sometimes more is needed to ensure full safety. Just because a garment protects you from fire, will it protect you from electricity or chemicals? An excellent practical example of this in action is if you are working in a laboratory environment. Fire retardant lab coats will defend you from flames yes, but what about other hazards? This is where our multinorm and multi-protective workwear jackets come in. Fire resistance and many more features are included in our multinorm workwear jackets, so if you want all-in-one protection from many different hazards, you should consider a multi-norm fire-resistant jacket.
